1. Our Commitment to Student Privacy

At Athena Technologies Inc. (“Athena”), we take the trust of students, parents, and educators with paramount seriousness. This Privacy Policy details the types of information we collect when you use our AP Calculus prep software, how we use that information, and your rights regarding your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information necessary to deliver adaptive, high-impact AP tutoring:

  • Account Credentials: Name, email address, and authentication identifiers provided through our secure auth provider (Clerk).
  • Academic Progress & Performance Data: Problems attempted, accuracy rates, time spent per problem, mastery levels across the 8 AP Calculus units, and practice exam scores. This is stored securely in our cloud database (Supabase) to calculate your personalized 1–5 score projection.
  • Voice and Interaction Data: If you voluntarily enable our voice coaching feature, short audio buffers are processed in real-time via ElevenLabs to transcribe spoken questions. Raw audio is never stored permanently.
  • Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid membership, payment card processing is handled entirely by Stripe. Athena never stores or accesses your raw credit card numbers.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information collected is used strictly to:

  • Power the adaptive practice algorithm (selecting problems tailored to your skill gaps);
  • Drive the Socratic AI whiteboard tutor during interactive lessons;
  • Deliver your daily quest schedule, accountability streak updates, and exam score forecasts;
  • Provide teachers with class homework metrics if enrolled in an educator class code.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We partner only with industry-leading, enterprise-grade cloud service providers bound by strict data protection agreements:

  • Clerk: User authentication and session security.
  • Supabase (PostgreSQL): Secure encrypted database storage.
  • Stripe: Payment processing and subscription management.
  • Anthropic: LLM inference for Socratic tutoring (governed by commercial zero-retention enterprise terms).
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery for account verifications and study notifications.

5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

You retain complete ownership over your personal data. You may request a complete export or permanent deletion of your account and all associated performance history at any time by emailing privacy@athenaprep.com.
