Senior Full-Stack Engineer
Own the student and educator user surfaces across Next.js 16, React 19, Tailwind CSS 4, and Supabase. Build fluid, low-latency UI for whiteboard animations, LaTeX math rendering, and real-time SSE streaming.
What We Look For
- 4+ years of professional experience with modern TypeScript and React/Next.js
- Deep understanding of browser rendering performance, SVG manipulation, and CSS transitions
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/Supabase) and real-time state management
- Passion for creating delightful, frictionless consumer software
AI Tutoring Research Engineer
Design, evaluate, and scale our Python FastAPI + Agno agent service. Develop structured prompt architectures, tool-use schemas, and automated mathematical evaluation systems (using SymPy and LLM judges) that keep tutor dialogue pedagogically sound.
What We Look For
- Strong Python systems background and experience deploying production LLM pipelines
- Familiarity with structured outputs, function calling, and prompt engineering with Claude models
- Experience designing automated evals and benchmark suites for generative systems
- Background or active interest in mathematics, cognitive science, or tutoring systems
AP Calculus Curriculum Lead
Lead the pedagogical design of Athena's AP Calculus AB & BC content. Author high-quality diagnostic problem sets, design rubrics for Free Response Questions (FRQs), and translate common student misconceptions into automated tutor prompts.
What We Look For
- Proven track record teaching AP Calculus AB or BC with exceptional student score outcomes
- Deep familiarity with the College Board Course & Exam Description (CED) and scoring rubrics
- Fluency in LaTeX and authoring clear mathematical explanations
- Eagerness to explore how AI can augment human teaching methodologies
